PIANJ Women's Business Forum features N.J.'s first Lt. Gov. Guadagno

Trenton, N.J.—The Professional Insurance Agents of New Jersey held its fall Women’s Business Forum last week at Forsgate Country Club, Jamesburg, N.J. Insurance professionals from across the state attended the event to hear from the state’s first Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno.

"We are honored that the lieutenant governor took time out of her busy schedule to discuss her vision for New Jersey with professional insurance agents from across the state," said PIANJ President Kacy Campion Renna, CIC. "The Women’s Business Forum offers insurance producers the opportunity to hear viewpoints of successful businesswomen and professionals."

(L-R) PIANJ President Kacy Campion Renna, CIC; PIANJ past President Donna M. Cunningham, CPIA; PIANJ President-elect Rip Bush, CPIA; Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno; PIANJ’s Legislative Representative Carol Katz; PIANJ Secretary Thomas Wilkens; Katz Government Affairs Associate Mary Lou Pardey; and Claudia Meehan of McGowan Risk Specialists.

During her address, Guadagno recognized the value professional insurance agents give to New Jersey’s insurance-buying public, citing as an example how hard the industry worked behind the scenes to help families and get businesses up and running after Superstorm Sandy. She also addressed various challenges in the Garden State, including high property taxes and her desire to keep families and businesses from leaving the state.

Guadagno is a military mom and former U.S. prosecutor and sheriff who was awarded the U.S. Department of Justice’s highest honor for her prosecutions of two, separate corrupt public officials. Currently, she is running for governor of New Jersey.

Previous PIANJ Women’s Business Forum speakers include: Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman, D-12; Wendy Murphy, CFP, financial advisor, financial planning specialists, The Murphy Group; Morgan Stanley Wealth Management; and Joan Woodward, executive vice president for public policy, Travelers.

PIANJ is a trade association representing professional, independent insurance agencies, brokerages and their employees throughout New Jersey.
