Murray receives Industry Professional of the Year from PIANY

GLENMONT, N.Y.—JoAnne Murray, CIC, received The Professional Insurance Agents of New York’s Industry Professional of the Year during the association’s annual Hudson Valley Regional Awareness Program, being held Oct. 30 at the Crowne Plaza in Suffern, N.Y. PIANY will present this honor to recognize the substantial contribution of an individual who has contributed to the insurance industry. Murray is president of the Allan M. Block Insurance Agency in Tarrytown, N.Y.

“I consider JoAnne Murray an exemplary model for our industry,” said John Tomassi, CPCU, PIANY president. “She personifies professionalism and is richly deserving of this honor.” 

Active in the association, Murray has been a member of PIANY’s Hudson Valley and Westchester/Rockland Advisory Councils.

In her community, Murray currently serves on several boards, including the Tarrytown Music Hall and the Sleepy Hollow Chamber of Commerce. She also is on the board of Kendal on Hudson, a retirement community in Westchester County, and the RSHM Life Center whose mission it is to welcome the needy, especially women and children, and to create with them a culture which nurtures their human development.        

PIANY is a trade association representing professional, independent insurance agencies, brokerages and their employees throughout the state.
