PIANY honors Wasielewski as Company Person of the Year

GLENMONT, N.Y.—Rebecca L. Wasielewski, CPCU, API, AINS, personal lines senior territory manager for Safeco Insurance Co. in Syracuse, N.Y. was awarded the New York Professional Insurance Agents Company Person of the Year at the association’s annual board of directors meeting held Sept. 10, 2019.

Nominated by PIA member agents, this award is presented to an individual who fosters a strong working relationship with agents and brokers, and who exemplifies a commitment to professionalism and service.

With 30 years experience in the insurance industry, Wasielewski began her career in insurance in 1989, working at Hanover Insurance Co., as a data entry operator and underwriter. She went on to join Travelers Insurance Co. as an underwriter in 1996, and moved to Safeco in 2006 where she currently is their personal lines senior territory manager.

Active in her community, Wasielewski in chairperson/commissioner of the North West Fire District.

“Our members have grown to recognize Beckie as a person who has a strong working relationship between her company and their agencies,” said Jamie Ferris, CIC, CPIA, AAI, PIANY president. “Her commitment to the independent agency system is evident in the relationships she’s developed. PIANY is pleased to present her with this award.”  

PIANY is a trade association representing professional, independent insurance agencies and their employees throughout the state.
