Prast elected treasurer of PIACT

HARTFORD, Conn.—Gerard Prast, of Wallingford, Conn., was elected treasurer of the Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut Inc., at the association’s Annual Convention, March 9-10, at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn.

Prast is assistant vice president for XS Brokers with offices in Quincy and Worcester, Mass., West Hartford, Conn. and Philadelphia.

An active member of PIACT, Prast is business issues vice chairperson of the Legislative/Business Issues Committee and is an ex-officio member of the Western Advisory Council. He has long served on the association’s Member/Consumer Relations and Education and Conference Committees, having chaired both.

Active in the industry, Prast is treasurer of the New England Surplus Lines Association. He also has served on the board of the National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices, Ltd.
