Philip R. Bogle

Q. What is your insurance origin story?

Bogle Agency Insurance was started in 1919 by Horace R. Bogle. After World War II, my father, Warren Bogle, joined the agency. In 1971 after I went to college, I joined the agency and worked with my father until his untimely death in 1999, at which time I took over the agency. At that time, the agency had five employees. I soon realized the agency could not survive as it was, so I immediately started to grow the agency. Soon after that my son and daughter joined me in the agency, and they continue to work here to this day. Today, Bogle Agency Insurance has 25 employees.

Q. What first sparked your interest in supporting the New Jersey PIAPAC and its causes?

PIA is the voice of the insurance agency and NJPIAPAC allows me to be heard in New Jersey and nationally as well. Without an organization like PIA or other agency-oriented associations, the independent insurance agent would find it hard to compete and maintain its identity.

Q. In your opinion, what are the most important issues or policies the NJPIAPAC helps to support?

I would say NJPIAPAC works to combat unfair competition, rules, and regulations. These actions help to benefit the insurance agents by providing them with a voice for their causes at the state level. NJPIAPAC also is instrumental in educating insurance agents about the various legislative issues that affect their agencies.

Q. If you could give one piece of advice to potential new donors considering supporting the NJPIAPAC, what would it be?

The insurance agency is your livelihood. You need an organization like PIA to help you support your livelihood. Your family, employees, and income depend on the success of the agency so you should support organizations that work for you.

Q. Lastly, can you give readers one book, movie, or show recommendation?

I would recommend the book, Good To Great by Jim Collins; and the movie It’s A Wonderful Life.
