Rabbett elected president-elect of PIACT

HARTFORD, Conn.—Shannon Rabbett, CIC, of Windsor, Conn., was elected president-elect of the Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut, at the association’s Annual Convention, March 5-6, at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn.

Rabbett is principal of Rabbett Insurance Agency in Windsor, Conn.

An active member of the association, Rabbett was vice president in 2019-20; treasurer for 2018-19; and serves as conference chairperson of PIACT’s Association Programs Committee and is a member of PIACT’s Executive/Budget & Finance Committee.

Rabbett also is past president of the Connecticut Young Insurance Professionals. In 2013 and 2015, she received the CTYIP Young Insurance Professional of the Year award. This award is presented by CTYIP to honor a member of the association’s board of directors who has contributed a great deal of time and talent to help support the association and its programs. CTYIP, an affiliate of PIACT, promotes the professional and personal growth of those new to the insurance field by providing education and networking opportunities.

In 2019, Rabbett received PIACT’s Committee Chair of the Year award. The award honors the PIACT volunteer who best demonstrates dedication and effort in chairing one of PIACT’s committees. Rabbett received this honor for her work as convention chairperson of the Association Programs Committee.

PIACT is a trade association representing professional, independent insurance agencies and their employees throughout the state.
