PIANJ to give Reichman Community Service Award

TRENTON, N.J.—Steven A. Reichman, CIC, of Somerset, N.J. will receive the Community Service Award from the Professional Insurance Agents of New Jersey at the association’s annual conference held June 11-13, at the Harrah’s Resort and Casino in Atlantic City. He is vice president of business development for ADP/Statewide Insurance Agency in Florham Park, N.J.

This citation was given in appreciation for his on-going efforts on behalf of his unwavering support of Special Olympics New Jersey and New Jersey’s professional insurance agents. The Fun Run, combined with the PIANJ annual golf outing, has raised more than $3.6 million for SONJ since they were established.

"Steve has been the heart of PIANJ’s efforts on behalf of Special Olympics New Jersey for more than 20 years," said PIANJ President Donald F. LaPenna Jr. "His dedication to this worthy cause is exemplified by how the PIANJ Golf Classic and the NJYIP Fun Run continue to grow and support Special Olympic athletes each year. He is an integral part of PIA’s more than 33-year partnership with Special Olympics."

Active in the association, Reichman is active past president of PIANJ and is a member of the Membership Services/Programs and the Glenmont National Alliance committees. He also is an ex-officio member of the Northeast New Jersey Advisory Council. Reichman recently served as president on the PIA Management Services board of directors.

Reichman received PIANJ’s presidential citation in 2007. This citation was given in appreciation for his ongoing efforts on behalf of the industry as chair of the Certified Insurance Counselors board of governors and for his unwavering support of SONJ and New Jersey’s professional insurance agents.

Reichman received PIANJ’s prestigious Distinguished Insurance Service Award in 2003. The award recognizes an individual who has established a history of service, dedicated leadership and attention to the concerns of independent agents and their clients.

Reichman was named PIANJ’s Director of the Year in 1999 to honor the hard work and dedication of a member of the association and its many programs.

In June 2017, Reichman will become the chair of the Raritan Valley Community College Foundation. This organization provides scholarships, money for unbudgeted items and projects for the staff.

PIANJ is a trade association representing professional, independent insurance agencies and their employees throughout the state.
