District office visits

PIA's District Office Visits

Every fall, PIANY facilitates its District Office Visit program, comprised of outreach meetings with legislators across the state, taking place November through January. These visits give us a head start on our priority issues for the coming 2019 state legislative session. The goal of the DOVs is to reach out to state legislators before they return to Albany and discuss the issues that are important to professional, independent insurance agents.

PIANY is committed to helping DOVs be a success by preparing volunteers with background information and talking points, so you can speak confidently on the most pressing issues. Your association’s staff even will attend meetings to support your visit. Interested in participating? Please send an email to govaffairs@pia.org or call the PIA Government Affairs Department at (800) 424‑4244, to get more information about the program. How the program works. PIANY members sign up to visit their legislators, in small groups, in their district offices, between November and January. Meetings take place in your local area with your state legislators and members of Congress. PIANY will provide you with the background materials you need and enlist PIANY staff to accompany you, if requested.
